Privacy Policy

On-device app data. No accounts, no analytics.

This Privacy Policy describes how Notics handles information when you use the Notics app, its widget extension, and notics.top. It also explains the permissions the app requests and the purpose behind each one.

Responsible party: YAN WANG. Privacy contact: lumora.studio@outlook.com.

App data stays on your device

Notics does not receive, transmit to our servers, or sell your calendar or reminder data. The app reads and writes the data that already lives on your device and in the accounts you configured with iOS. If you email us for support, we use the details you choose to send only to respond and support the app.

01 Overview

Notics is a native iOS app that uses Apple's Calendar, Reminders, Notifications, and WidgetKit frameworks to plan your day from data that already exists on your device. The app does not require you to create an account, and it does not operate any servers that receive your calendar or reminder data.

Because your app data does not travel to us, we have no app account, calendar, reminder, advertising, or tracking data on our servers to store, sell, or share. This policy focuses on what the app accesses on your device, what the website stores locally, what may be processed by Apple or our website host, what happens if you contact us, and how you stay in control.

02 Data we access

The app accesses only the on-device data listed below, through Apple-provided frameworks, and only for the stated purpose:

Calendar events
Read and edited via EventKit from the iCloud, Google, Outlook, and Exchange accounts configured in iOS Settings. This can include event titles, dates, times, notes, alarms, calendar identifiers, calendar names, colors, and source/account names.
Reminders
Read, completed, edited, deleted, and scheduled via EventKit from your reminder lists. This can include reminder titles, notes, due dates, completion state, alarms, list identifiers, list names, colors, and source/account names.
App preferences
Your language, theme, first-day-of-week, gesture, calendar visibility, default calendar, alert, agenda, and reminder preferences, stored in the app. A copy of app settings is mirrored to the shared app group so widgets can load the appearance, language, and calendar display values they need to match the app.
Local notifications
The daily digest time, sound, range, and preview setting you choose. If previews are enabled, the local notification body may include upcoming item titles generated on your device.
Website language preference
Your language choice on notics.top may be stored in your browser's local storage so the site can reopen in the same language.

None of this app or website preference data is transmitted to us. Calendar and reminder data syncs only through the providers you already configured with iOS, never through Notics.

03 How data is used

We use the data accessed on your device solely to provide the app's features:

  • Show your month, agenda, and reminders as you navigate the app.
  • Create, edit, and delete events and reminders on your request.
  • Deliver the daily digest as a local notification at the time you set.
  • Render widgets that match your active theme and language preferences.
  • Remember the website language in your browser if you use the language switcher.

04 What we never do

  • We never create an account for you or ask you to sign in.
  • We never send your calendar or reminder data to our servers.
  • We never include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs in the app.
  • We never track you across apps or websites, and we never sell your information.
  • We never use your data to train any model.

If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide any required notice or choices before the change takes effect.

05 Permissions in detail

Calendar full access

Required to display, create, edit, and delete calendar events. Notics reads from and writes to the accounts you configured in iOS Settings → Calendar → Accounts. Without this permission, the month grid and agenda cannot function.

Reminders full access

Required for the reminder inbox, agenda reminder rows, completion controls, and scheduling. Without it, reminder features are unavailable while calendar events still work.

Notifications

Required only for the optional daily digest. If denied, the rest of the app works normally - you simply won't receive the local summary alert.

You can review or withdraw any permission at any time in iOS Settings → Apps → Notics.

06 Notifications & digest

The daily digest is a local notification scheduled by iOS at the time you choose. The timing, sound, range, and preview setting are stored on your device. If previews are enabled, the notification body may include upcoming item titles generated locally from your agenda. No information about your agenda is included in anything sent to us, because nothing is sent to us. Focus modes and iOS notification settings fully control delivery.

07 Widgets

The widget extension reads appearance, language, and calendar-color preferences from a shared app group so its colors and surfaces match the app. The current WidgetKit extension does not send widget data to us.

08 Data retention

Because we do not receive or store your app data, there is no app account, calendar, reminder, analytics, advertising, or tracking data for us to retain or delete on a server. Your calendar and reminder data is retained by your providers (iCloud, Google, etc.) according to their own policies. Your app preferences remain on your device until you change them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. The website language preference remains in your browser until you clear site data.

09 Children's privacy

Notics is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent us personal information in a support email, contact us and we will delete it when legally permitted.

10 Website and support

The Notics website is static. We do not use advertising trackers, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or cookies. The language switcher may store a local preference in your browser. Our website host may process standard server or CDN request logs, such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp, to deliver, operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site. We do not use those logs to track you across apps or websites. Because we do not track browsing activity, the site does not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

If you email us at lumora.studio@outlook.com, use the contact page to open a pre-addressed email draft, or submit the privacy request form, we receive the contact details and message content you choose to send. That may include your name, email address, topic, screenshots, device details, or diagnostics you include. We use support communications to respond, troubleshoot, improve Notics, prevent abuse, and keep necessary business records. We do not sell support communications or share them for advertising.

Support messages may remain in our email records and backups as needed for the purposes above, unless you ask us to delete them and we no longer need to keep them for legal, security, or legitimate business reasons.

11 Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. Most app data-rights requests, such as access, correction, or deletion of calendar and reminder data, should be directed to the providers that hold your calendar and reminder accounts. For support communications or anything else within our control, email lumora.studio@outlook.com or submit the privacy request form, and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.

12 Third-party services

Your calendar and reminder data may be processed by third-party providers such as Apple iCloud, Google, Microsoft Outlook, or your Exchange server, under their own privacy policies. Notics does not control those services and is not responsible for their data practices.

Apple processes App Store and TestFlight activity under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. If you install Notics through TestFlight or the App Store and choose to share diagnostics with Apple, Apple may make crash logs or diagnostic information available to us, such as app version, device model, OS version, crash time, and stack traces. We use Apple-provided diagnostics only to diagnose, fix, and improve Notics. Your email provider and form provider process messages you send to us under their own terms and privacy policies.

13 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with an updated "Last updated" date. If a change meaningfully affects your privacy, we will communicate it through the App or this site before it takes effect.
