Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Agreement") are a legal contract between you ("you" or "your") and Notics ("we", "us", or "our") governing your use of the Notics app and its widget extension (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to this Agreement.

01 Acceptance of terms

By using the App you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not download or use the App. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

02 License to use the app

Subject to your ongoing compliance with this Agreement, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and run the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You may not: (a) copy, modify, or distribute the App except as permitted by Apple's TestFlight or App Store terms; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App; (c) remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices; or (d) use the App in any manner that violates applicable law or third-party rights.

The App may be distributed through Apple's TestFlight beta program or the App Store, and your use is also subject to the applicable Apple terms.

03 Eligibility

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to accept this Agreement. If you are a parent or guardian permitting a minor to use the App, you accept this Agreement on their behalf and are responsible for their use.

04 Permissions & device data

The App runs entirely on your device. To provide its features, it requests permission to access data through Apple's EventKit and related system frameworks:

  • Calendars — to display, create, edit, and delete events from the accounts configured in iOS Settings.
  • Reminders — to display, complete, schedule, and manage reminders from your reminder lists.
  • Notifications — to schedule the optional local daily digest.
  • App group / widgets — to share appearance settings with the widget extension.

Each permission is requested with a clear purpose and can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings. See our Privacy Policy for details.

05 Your content

"Your content" means the calendar events, reminders, and any other data you view, create, or edit through the App. You retain all rights to your content. The App does not transmit your content to us — it remains stored on your device and in the third-party accounts (such as iCloud, Google, Outlook, or Exchange) you have configured with iOS.

You are responsible for your content and for complying with the terms of any third-party service that holds it. We do not store, access, or process your content on our servers.

06 Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to: (a) violate any law or third-party right; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system or data; (c) interfere with or disrupt the App or any third-party service; or (d) use the App to store or transmit unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.

07 Third-party services

The App reads and writes data through the calendar and reminder accounts you have configured on your device. Those accounts are governed by the terms and privacy policies of their providers (such as Apple iCloud, Google, Microsoft, or your Exchange provider). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of those services.

08 Updates to the app

We may update the App from time to time through TestFlight or the App Store, including to add features, fix issues, or maintain compatibility with new versions of iOS. Updates may change or remove features. Continuing to use the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the then-current version of this Agreement.

09 Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that your data will always be accurate or complete. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data through your calendar and reminder providers.

10 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim, or, if you did not pay for the App, one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

11 Governing law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of your jurisdiction of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where your local mandatory consumer-protection laws apply. If a dispute cannot be resolved informably, it shall be brought in the courts of your jurisdiction of residence.

12 Changes to these terms

We may revise this Agreement from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the App or this site. Your continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement.
